The first post to any blog is always the most awkward, since I feel like I should introduce myself and the cast of characters to my non-existent readers. I'm a young academic librarian living in Michigan with my giant cat, Gary. I've also got a boyfriend, Jeff, who puts up with me and Gary, so long as I'm willing to put up with his two monsters, Navi and Tak. That's right, we have 3 cats between us. The size progression goes like this:
1 Navi = 7 lbs
2 Navi = 1 Tak
3 Navi = 1 Navi+1 Tak = 1 Gary
In addition to the cats and my boyfriend, I like reading, tea, books, food, and fancy beer and liquor. I love to cook and bake, but I'm also currently trying to lose weight and get healthier. It's a struggle, but I'm committed to getting healthier and taking care of myself.
With any luck, this blog will highlight my successes (and failures) in the culinary arena, as well as what books I'm reading (or listening to), and any other exciting events in my life. One of my New Years Resolutions for 2011 is to blog and take photographs more, so this is my first step!
